about

In the summer of 1991, Phycus had access to Art Damage’s sequencer software (running on an Atari ST). It was an opportunity to lay down some serious beats. Start Digging was the natural progression of our experiments with cut-up lyrics, and even got limited club play in Halifax (Thanks, Libby!).

The bonus tracks include a 1991 re-recording of Start Digging for the compilation Collectiv One, and some other material recorded at the same time with the same sequencing software.

Original Sessions :
01 Start Digging – Radio Edit (Start Digging)
02 Start Digging – Libby’s Mix (Start Digging)

about

Phÿcus Montreal, Québec

Phÿcus was a Canadian industrial / experimental band that existed from 1988 to 2000. Phÿcus transformed from the traditional band format into a network that included over 50 contributors in a dozen locales, with Montreal as its centre of operations. Phÿcus' success was minimal, but their output was prodigious. Now in 2020, Phÿcus is back with a new release, "CrowleyWood". ... more
