about

« Nothing » is a collaboration between Brian Damage and Bill Abominog. It was a continuation of the collaborations between Brian, Bill and Art Damage in Sydney between 1985 and 1987. Bill has always been the Phycus member with the most gonzo approach to music, and these collaborations were a chance to explore themes that were too personal or too controversial for public consumption, and to do music that was too « pop » or too derivative to be included in the Phycus canon. It also sometimes served as a stopgap project between various Phycus formations in the 90`s.

There were about 4 or 5 sessions recorded as Nothing (or sometimes as No Body), none of which have been previously publicly released. This session was recorded in December, 1989, prior to the arrival of Bruce X and SPK-553 in Montreal.

The Legendary Pink Dots, Front Line Assembly, Coil and a cold and bleak winter served as the inspiration.

about

Phÿcus Montreal, Québec

Phÿcus was a Canadian industrial / experimental band that existed from 1988 to 2000. Phÿcus' success was minimal, but their output was prodigious. Now in 2020, Phÿcus is back with a new release, "CrowleyWood". ... more
