about

Entre Chien Et Loup was a short-lived project featuring Brian Damage (metal percussion), Denis (bass) and Jan (Cello, Vocals). The vocals were recorded by having Jan growl through the pickup on his cello.

It began when Brian answered a classified ad in the Montreal Mirror for a metal percussionist. The idea was to combine the early, more experimental sound of Test Dept. with dub style bass.

The band lasted about three or four months from about December of 1990 to about March of 1991. The band made several recordings in their jam space, but never performed live, which created tension in the band as Brian wanted to perform, but the other members felt that the project wasn’t ready.

Things came to a halt after Denis and Jan saw Phycus perform at the Sauvez Bunker benefit and were apparently horrified by what they saw.

The recordings on this release represent the entirety of Entre Chien Et Loup’s recorded output.
