about

Recorded at the Rivoli Club, Toronto, February 1992

First Phÿcus show in Toronto, opening for Attack Squad and Digital Poodle. First onstage appearance of William Davison as a member of Phÿcus.

According to Scott Righteous:
This was the one where some fights broke out, and over the years I eventually became friends with most of whom was in attendance, and was able to piece together what the hell happened. There was a fight or two, and a guy threw a chair, but we were playing, so it was hard to see what exactly was going on. There was a guy dressed fairly casual who pushed a dread-punk guy up against the wall near the door, so I assumed he was causing trouble, but in fact I found out later it was quite the opposite. Also Jurgen was there (friends with Attack Squad) and jumped out of the way of a chair that got thrown. Vegetarians gone wild, I think was the premise of the violence. I don't know if the leather-jacketed dread-punk guy was assaulted first. Maybe somebody was picking on him. But he did appear to be quite pissed off about "Meat Is Might".

about

Phÿcus Montreal, Québec

Phÿcus was a Canadian industrial / experimental band that existed from 1988 to 2000. Phÿcus transformed from the traditional band format into a network that included over 50 contributors in a dozen locales, with Montreal as its centre of operations. Phÿcus' success was minimal, but their output was prodigious. Now in 2020, Phÿcus is back with a new release, "CrowleyWood". ... more
